The JPW Foundation chooses charities that help our youth. Our hope is to develop awareness and to call the community to action. We want everyone involved to have fun, to embrace the effort and feel a part of something positive. With our 2007 grant, The JPW Foundation has granted over $600,000 to the following charities: Boys & Girls Clubs of King County: The Boys & Girls Club's mission is "to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens." Athletes For Kids: This mentor program pairs high-school athletes with special needs kids in grades 1-6. The athletes serve as role models, confidantes, inspirational figures and "special buddies." Their star power off the field boosts the self esteem and social stature of the young special needs kids. Young Life: Young Life is a non-denominational Christian organization that strives to share the hope of Christ with disinterested and hurting kids in this community. Relationships between trained adult leaders and students serve as the foundation from which we do that, through weekly outreach events (Club), small group gatherings in peoples homes (Campaigners), and through our unrivaled camping programs. Friends of Youth: Friends of Youth develops, provides and advocates services for children, youth, their families and communities that encourage individual growth and promote constructive relationships. Camp Sambica: Since 1919, SAMBICA ministries have shaped the hearts and lives of thousands of tomorrows leaders through bible based camping, training, day care and other programs which utilize key elements that impact the mind, body and spirit. These elements, teaching, relationships, shared housing, small groups, accountability, mentoring, physical activities and service projects, come together in a manner that shapes participants into more capable, confident and caring individuals. |
